The Nirvanix Cloud Storage Network™ is a fully-managed, highly secure cloud storage service developed for today's enterprises. The Cloud Storage Network intelligently stores, delivers and processes storage requests in the best network location, providing the optimal user experience. The Cloud Storage Network is comprised of standards-based access to integrated services, all powered by Nirvanix's patent-pending proprietary technology and infrastructure.
At Nirvanix, the security and integrity of our customers' data and systems are our highest priority. Our Network Operation Control staff monitor the Cloud Storage Network 24x7 and regularly test the network to ensure the highest levels of performance and protection. Nirvanix storage nodes are located globally in Tier III facilities that utilize financial-grade physical and biometric procedures to safeguard all access to the nodes and your data.
The Nirvanix infrastructure features built-in enhanced security capabilities such as SSL, strong password authentication, and de-identified physical file information that prevents linking files to users without a 3-step key. To strengthen access control even further, all access requests use token-based authentication with server-side session management, preventing manipulation, impersonation, compromise of data or login credentials.
Nirvanix utilizes rigorous control processes that have been audited and approved by a major auditing firm as well as the information security departments of multiple Fortune 50 enterprises. Moreover, Nirvanix has been awarded Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) Type II certification that verifies that our control processes are documented and have followed industry standard requirements for more than a year. We continually maintain our information security policy as well as monitor and test our network.
For highly secure transfers, Nirvanix users can encrypt and then transmit data via SSL. Existing data encryption processes can be kept on-premise or a 256-bit AES encryption client is offered as a reference application. In addition, CloudNAS® has integrated AES 256-bit encryption and SSL options. Key management is the users responsibility ensuring that only they can see the data in the unlikely event of a breach.
Nirvanix's standard service utilizes RAID 6, striping files to 3 separate discs to ensure data integrity. Customers have the option of replicating data on multiple nodes that each utilize RAID 6. This process is automated using Nirvanix's policy-based replication and gives you unparalleled control of integrity based upon your requirements and budget. Checksum operations on data uploads along with frequent internal integrity checks are performed to preserve the integrity of data in transit and at rest. Moreover, every file copy or transfer within the Cloud Storage Network is validated against a stored MD5 hash to verify that the additional copy has not been corrupted in transit.
Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) is an auditing standard for service organizations developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). SAS 70 Type II certification means an organization has control processes documented. SAS 70 Type II means that the organization has demonstrated adherence to the control processes for over a year. Nirvanix has proven adherence to the control processes and has been awarded Type II certification.
Use Nirvanix policy-based data replication to specify the number of copies you would like to replicate. The Nirvanix proprietary geo-location technology will determine in which nodes to store the data based upon your specifications and the location of the user. You can also assign different policies to different data sets by utilizing Nirvanix's Application functionality to create multiple API keys, which control policies, under the same Nirvanix master account. By utilizing Nirvanix policy-based data replication, you also increase the guaranteed SLA from the standard 99.9% for one copy, to 99.99% for two copies or 100% for 3 or more copies. More info
The Cloud Storage Network™ is comprised of 7 globally-dispersed storage nodes strategically located to optimize access regardless of a user's location – U.S. California, Texas, New Jersey; Germany; Switzerland (2) and Japan. The nodes are accessible via a single namespace, which means you write to one location and have access to any one or all of the nodes. Storing your data has never been easier.
Unlike competing solution providers, Nirvanix delivers a full file system that supports your existing directory structures. This approach significantly reduces your development time when writing directly to the API and does not require you to modify how you store your data. Nirvanix's file system includes integrated calls based on such familiar conventions as move, copy, rename, and delete. Additionally, the multi-tenant structure allows you to have multiple applications under a single account.
The Nirvanix Cloud File System combined with Nirvanix's proprietary infrastructure was developed to handle millions of users and billions of files under a single namespace. This means that Nirvanix can scale to meet even the largest storage requirements.
With Nirvanix policy-based geo-replication, you can specify exactly where you want your data stored or replicated. This lets you optimize upload and download performance by enabling your users to access files from the storage nodes closest to them.
