Database Administrator

THE BIG PICTURE

Do you think about the world in terms of IOPS and transactions per second?? Do you describe your relationship with your friends as "one-to-many"? Are you ready to work with a team that supports databases that are exercised tens of thousands of times per second from clients all over the world? Do you add sugar to your Mountain Dew to give it that extra "punch"? We’re looking for a database administrator to help us optimize and maintain the SQL backend of our industry-leading cloud storage solution. This role is both a major contributor within our company and on the Operations team.

Nirvanix is the premier Enterprise-Class Cloud Storage services provider. Nirvanix has built a global cluster of storage nodes collectively referred to as the Storage Delivery Network (SDN), powered by the Nirvanix Cloud File System (IFS). The SDN intelligently stores, delivers, and processes storage requests in the best network location, providing the best user experience in the marketplace. With the ability to store multiple file copies in multiple geographic nodes, the SDN enables unparalleled data availability for businesses and enterprises.

The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience building large-scale, highly-reliable, OLTP database systems. You’re team-driven, never territorial, freely give credit to others, and a poster child of Theory Y. You’re a master with SQL Server, entity relationships, SANs, problem solving, and security. If this sounds like you, then you’d love working for Nirvanix… we’ve got some cool stuff for you to work on. Send us your resume.

  • 3 or more years managing 100GB+ databases in OLTP environments.

  • Performance tuning knowledge on all levels.
  • Understanding of distributed architecture is required.
