Jim Zierick comes to Nirvanix from Aspyra Inc., a leading provider of clinical and diagnostic information solutions for the healthcare industry, where he was CEO and continues to serve as a member of the company's Board of Directors. He previously served as CEO of LogicalApps, a provider of embedded controls software for enterprise applications. Prior to joining LogicalApps, Zierick was Executive Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations for Peregrine Systems, where he led a 350 person sales, alliance, customer support and professional services organization, and was responsible for generating $200 million of new license, support and service revenue. Before working with Peregrine, Zierick was a partner with McKinsey & Company, where he helped lead the company’s Southern California technology and operational effectiveness practices, leveraging his wide-ranging experience with major technology companies. Zierick holds an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a B.E. and an A.B. from Dartmouth College and Thayer School of Engineering.
Dave Ryan is a founding partner of Mission Ventures and has over 23 years of venture capital experience focusing on early-stage information technology and service companies. Prior to Mission Ventures, he served as General Partner of Copley Venture Partners, a Boston-based venture capital firm focused on early-stage investing in information technology, business services and healthcare. Prior to Copley, Dave held positions in strategic planning, business development and plant modernization with Medusa Corp, a Midwest-based manufacturer of industrial materials. Dave holds a Bachelor's degree from Northeastern University and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University. He is currently a Director of 3E Company, BMS Reimbursement Management, Kalon Semiconductor, LogicalApps, DevZuz and WorkWell Systems.
Charles Curran has been a technology venture capital investor since 1998 helping to drive Valhalla's efforts in data storage, mobile and Internet marketing. Before joining Valhalla, Charles was a partner of Saturn Venture Partners in New York, NY where he led Saturn's enterprise technology investing efforts, including application software, infrastructure software, e-security, and storage. Charles has also worked as an associate with New Enterprise Associates in Reston, Virginia, working closely with Art Marks. Prior to NEA, Mr. Curran worked as a telecommunications and technology investment banker for Lazard Frères & Co. and DLJ Securities Corporation, advising clients on over $35 billion announced M&A and capital markets transactions. Charles received a Masters in Business Administration from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with Distinction from Stanford University.
David Titus is co-founder and Managing Director of Windward Ventures. In addition to directing the overall development of the firm, he is responsible for a number of investments in the software field. Mr. Titus has been a director of over 25 companies, including two public companies. He is a member of the Executive Committee for the CONNECT program in San Diego and a member of the Venture Capital Advisory Board of the San Diego Venture Group. Mr. Titus was formerly an officer of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists. Prior to founding Windward Ventures, Mr. Titus was a General Partner and Managing Director of Corporate Finance for Technology Funding, a $250 million venture capital firm, where he was responsible for directing all new investment activity from 1988 through 1992. Mr. Titus was also a co-founder and Senior Vice President of Silicon Valley Bank, a highly successful bank with headquarters in Santa Clara, California. Mr. Titus has a BA from University of California, Santa Barbara.
Mike Wall is an independent business consultant with extensive experience in developing and managing high technology businesses. From 2002 through 2007, he was the general manager of Intel Corporation's Storage Group, based in Chandler, Arizona, where he was responsible for managing the P&L and all aspects of product and business development for Intel's $500M storage business. From 1994 through 1996, Mike was the general manager of Intel's Supercomputer Systems Division. His division led the introduction of Intel's x86 architecture into the high performance computing market with massively parallel systems. Prior to joining the Intel Corporation in 1992, Mike was an area general manager at Cray Research, responsible for North American Operations. He also held several marketing management positions at IBM in New York City. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Sports Foundation. Mike earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and completed his Masters of Management Sciences, Harriman College for Urban and Policy Sciences, at SUNY Stony Brook.
